Going to a Riot.

Dear Abbi,

I’m not saying there will definitely be a riot going on tomorrow downtown, but if there were a riot tomorrow downtown, what should I wear to that riot?  I don’t want to stand out.  It’s just, this is my first riot, and I want to make sure I fit in-I wouldn’t want anyone to pick me out of the crowd. If I were planning on bringing “props” to this hypothetical riot, how should I carry them so they don’t ruin the fun surprise of bringing them out and using the props to have more fun at the riot.  Does a hat immediately say, “I’m involved in something”?

Not Real RIot

Downtown

Dear Not Real Riot,

I totally know where you’re coming from.  It’s hard to go to your first anything and know what to wear!  First of all, I’d say color is always a fun option, but Black always makes you look slimmer and is a classic choice at any event.  Props get people engaged and active in whatever is going on, plus they can be really fun, and show that you took time to make an extra special effort!  If you want to really surprise people with your props, I would tape them to your body under your clothes.  That way, no one will ever guess you have these special fun surprises!  It sounds like your first riot will be a really fun and memorable one-hat or no hat.  Another fun idea is to pretend your someone else for the day!  Don’t bring your ID with you and you can even dye your hair!  Also remember whenever you’re going to a new place make sure you have some cash on you.  You never know when you’ll need to leave quickly if things get too crazy for you!

Best of Luck,

Abbi
